Description

Of our 43 Presidents, the most commonly found first name is James, shared by six men (Madison, Monroe, Polk, Buchanan, Garfield, and Carter). Tied for second are William, with four (Harrison, McKinley, Taft, Clinton), and John (Adams, Quincy Adams, Tyler, Kennedy). Here's a breakdown - 1. James - 6 2. William - 4 2. John - 4 3. George - 3 4. Andrew - 2 4. Frankiln -2 22 Tied for Fifth If Kerry manages to beat Bush in 2004, he'll knock the Johns into second place. And while all our Presidents have had fairly common names (with the exceptions of Millard and Rutherford), we have had Vice Presidents named Schulyer, Levi, and Elbridge! And what, of course, is the greatest irony of them all? Between the eighty-nine (43 Presidents, 46 V.P.s), not a single Bob! ; )
