Where do our members come from?
Currently the IPIL consists of many third party independents. People that are fed up with how both the Democratic and Republican parties are running Illinois. Some members come from the old Reform, Independence, United Indepents, and Harold Washington parties. Many are former Republicans and Democrats who have seen their parties bought and sold to the highest bidder.
What is our goal?
The main purpose is to elect independent candidates to the legislature and put our state government back into the hands of the electorate.
Our plan is to unite the many smaller independent groups and other disinfranchised voters located in Illinois. These groups and independents can not affect political change on a state wide level alone, but together we will be able to change the way Illinois government is currently run. Though we do not all agree on every issue, we believe there are many issues that we all can agree.
What do we want to change?
Restructuring elementary school curriculum
True campaign finance reform
The ability to recall elected officials
Reduction in the costs of illegal aliens on the taxpayers
