My primary interests on this site are presidential history, Supreme Court retirements and appointments, Congressional apportionment and redistricting, and federal election predictions (qualitative for the Senate and the Electoral Vote, quantitative for the House of Representatives.) I'm all over the place politically, but my two biggest voting issues: Supreme Court appointments and fiscal conservatism, both align with the GOP... at least theoretically.
Things I take credit for on OC:
The Family Connection thing
Presidential, Senate, and Gubernatorial elections I've predicted incorrectly:
2012 President: NC
2012 Senate: IN, MT, ND
2012 Governors: MT
2010 Senate: AK, CO, IL, NV
2010 Governors: IL
2008 President: FL, IN, NC, NE-District02
2008 Senate: NC
2008 Governors: none
2006 Senate: MO, VA
2006 Governors: MI
2004 President: IA, NM, WV
2004 Senate: CO
2004 Governors: none
Overall, I show a slight Republican bias. Letters in bold signify having predicted a Democrat when a Republican ended up winning. I think predicting West Virginia for Kerry in 2004 was a misclick...
"They want a moderate judge. What in the world is a moderate judge? What is a moderate interpretation of the Constitution? Halfway between what it really says and what you'd like it to say?"
- Justice Antonin Scalia
"For it has been said so truthfully that it is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the agitator, who has given us the freedom to protest. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, serves beneath the flag, whose coffin is draped by the flag who gives that protester the freedom he abuses to burn that flag."
- Senator Zell Miller
"In case you missed it, a few days ago Senator Clinton tried to spend $1 million on the Woodstock Concert Museum. Now, ladies and gentlemen, I wasn't there. I'm sure it was a cultural and pharmaceutical event. I was tied up at the time."
- Senator John McCain
"There comes a time when 100 senators are for something that we all support. If we can't find $10 billion to pay for it, we're not going to pay for anything."
- Senator Jim Bunning
"All Buday wants, the opportunity being and the porn posted by others, maybe NeoRhino.ca or theocrat? To respond to user 262 and 38 and 1196 and 1 fairness, that is fair, and respectful. Phylatician he is, not to use linear thinking only, perhaps you do not understand? Running Van-Bur 1996 BC REFORM and his mother Aletta, why insult you, hate women or possible women? Why make an issue, family of scientists, childhood auditions possible athletes, and lifelong users of safe needle site, Vancouver has, Calgary and Toronto do not? The left wing NDP Vision Vancouver and the Coalition of Progressive Electors (COPE) are not Anglicans, like GMC (Gordon Muir Campbell), Americans cannot have Campbell as a president, Anglicans fought against, or possible theocracy?"
"I thought that was excellent Karma. If this whole medicine thing doesn't work out, you've got a fine career anyway."
"What, deciphering the ramblings of people who visit safe needle sites?"
"Also known as social work."
"The lowest difficultly setting is minority who speaks proper English and dresses professionally."
"Ah, and what exactly is "proper English?" Is there a book or something? Or is it how certain people talk?"

"Yes. Read the comments section on articles written in The Economist about financial complications arising from the unhindered flow of goods throughout Europe per the terms of the Schengen Agreement and then read the YouTube comments section on 50 Cent's seminal masterpiece "Da Realist Killaz". Pore carefully over each screed and make sure to meticulously analyze each so that you may find some sort of contrast, difficult as it may be. Weigh each against authoritative sources like the Merriam-Webster dictionary and Strunk & White's The Elements of Style. Your odyssey in research will be both exhaustive and exhausting, but with diligence and hard work you may just yet figure out which one features proper English and which doesn't. I won't spoil it for you, though."
