I will never put anyone on ignore; I'm well capable of ignoring comments of little or no value without need for technological interference.

"It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so you may live as you wish." ~Mother Theresa

"The fool takes no delight in understanding, but rather in displaying what he thinks." ~Proverbs 18:2

"The statesman who should attempt to direct private people in what manner they ought to employ their capitals, would not only load himself with a most unnecessary attention, but assume an authority which could safely be trusted to no council and senate whatever, and which would nowhere be so dangerous as in the hands of a man who had folly and presumption enough to fancy himself fit to exercise it." ~Adam Smith (1776)

"It will be of little avail to the people, that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood; if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man, who knows what the law is today, can guess what it will be to-morrow." ~James Madison

"Anyone that is 20 years old and not a liberal doesn't have a heart. Anyone that is 40 years old and is not a conservative doesn't have a brain." ~Winston Churchill

"We Americans have always been a religious people, a member of my staff tells me. And whatever you may have heard, the Democratic Party is not anti-religion. Whether you're a Wiccan priestess, a Druid, tantric Buddhist, Servant of Moloch, Lord of Fire, Presbyterian, or a member of the Cult of Collie - your faith will be respected, so long as no animals are harmed during your ceremonies - except, of course, gerbils." ~Kristin Wiig as Nancy Pelosi, SNL

Bart: But Grandpa, didn't you wonder why you were getting checks for doing absolutely nothing?
Grandpa: I figured it was 'cause the Democrats were in power again.

"I don’t even have any opinions anymore. All I know is no one is better than anyone else and that everyone is the best at everything." ~Principal Skinner

Marge: What are we going to do to that field?
Pre-teen braves: Clean it!
Bart: And why are we going to do it?
Pre-teen braves: Liberal guilt!

Kyle's Dad: You see, Kyle, we live in a liberal-democratic society, and Democrats make sexual harassment laws. These laws tell us what we can and can't say in the work place, and what we can and can't do in the work place.
Kyle: Isn't that fascism?
Kyle's Dad: No, because we don't call it fascism.

"My colleagues and I are upset by this blatant attempt to replace diversity with fairness." ~N.J. Assemblyman Joseph Doria

"We all do no end of feeling, and we mistake it for thinking. And out of it we get an aggregation which we consider a boon. Its name is public opinion. It is held in reverence. Some think it the voice of God." ~Mark Twain

"Inter arma enim silent leges." ~Cicero

"To remedy these wrongs the socialists, working on the poor man's envy of the rich, are striving to do away with private property, and contend that individual possessions should become the common property of all, to be administered by the State or by municipal bodies. They hold that by thus transferring property from private individuals to the community, the present mischievous state of things will be set to rights, inasmuch as each citizen will then get his fair share of whatever there is to enjoy. But their contentions are so clearly powerless to end the controversy that were they carried into effect the working man himself would be among the first to suffer. They are, moreover, emphatically unjust, for they would rob the lawful possessor, distort the functions of the State, and create utter confusion in the community." ~Rerum Novarum, Pope Leo XIII

WOMAN: Well, 'ow did you become king then?
ARTHUR: The Lady of the Lake, [angels sing] her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water signifying by Divine Providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. [singing stops] That is why I am your king!
DENNIS: Listen -- strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
ARTHUR: Be quiet!
DENNIS: Well you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!
ARTHUR: Shut up!
DENNIS: I mean, if I went around sayin' I was an emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me they'd put me away!
ARTHUR: Shut up! Will you shut up!
DENNIS: Ah, now we see the violence inherent in the system.
ARTHUR: Shut up!
DENNIS: Oh! Come and see the violence inherent in the system! HELP! HELP! I'm being repressed!
ARTHUR: Bloody peasant!
DENNIS: Oh, what a give away. Did you here that, did you here that, eh? That's what I'm on about -- did you see him repressing me, you saw it didn't you?
~Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Some conservative humor for you:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, raises the knife -- and charges.

You are carrying a Glock .40, and you're an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?

Liberal Answer:
Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think? What about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand? What does the law say about this situation? Does the Glock have an appropriate safety built into it? Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children? Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me? Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content to just wound me? If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me? Should I call 9-1-1? Why is this street so deserted? We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day and make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior. This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for a few days and try to come to a consensus.

Conservative Answer:

Southerner's Answer:
(followed by sounds of reloading)
Wife: "Sweetheart, he looks like he's still moving. What do you kids think?"
Son: "Mom's right, Dad . . I saw it too."
Daughter: "Nice group, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips?"
