Three remarkable works by internationally renowned artist Anish Kapoor take centre stage. Lot no. 31, part of his iconic series of mirror-esque stainless steel discs, is expected to fetch between INR 3,32,00,000 and 4,98,00,000. Kapoor’s ‘Mountain,’ featured as Lot no. 59, is a breath taking example of his mastery of dimension and perspective and is offered with an estimate of INR 1,00,00,000 to 1,30,00,000. Lot no. 111, an untitled piece from 2012, estimated to sell for INR 3,32,00,000 to 4,98,00,000, stands as a testament to Kapoor’s innovative use of materials.

Lot no. 73 is a work titled ‘Seeing Some Things Better’ by Bharti Kher, a senior artist known for her distinctive bindi creations. This work is a kaleidoscope of meticulously arranged bindis, creating a multi-layered visual experience, and is estimated to be acquired for INR 40,00,000 to 50,00,000.

Valay Shende’s signature style comes to life in three striking sculptures depicting wildlife. Lot no. 22, created in 2022 using stainless steel discs and plated fibreglass, is expected to sell for INR 15,00,000 to 20,00,000. Meanwhile, Lot no. 100, a stunning representation of a peacock, carries an estimated value of INR 30,00,000 to 40,00,000.

A large-scale masterpiece titled ‘Frozen Footnotes – 1 from the oeuvre of artist Jitish Kallat is estimated to be acquired for INR 17,00,000 to 20,00,000. Atul Dodiya’s Lot no. 15, ‘Gau-Raksha’ meeting, executed in 1998 with watercolour on paper, offers a fresh perspective on Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy and is expected to be acquired at INR 15,00,000 to 20,00,000.

Two captivating works by artist Nalini Malani are also important highlights of the auction. Lot no. 52, ‘Quietly Flows The River,’ delving into the complex relationship between women and their environments, is offered with an estimated value of INR 15,00,000 to 20,00,000. Lot no. 88, ‘First Romance,’ executed in 1981 with oil on canvas, is estimated to sell for INR 15,00,000 to 20,00,000.

Among other important lots is also Baiju Parthan’s colossal 24-foot creation, ‘Gargoyle River.’ This tetraptych presents distinct scenes infused with mythic implications and historical references and is estimated to be sold for INR 30,00,000 to 40,00,000. Artist Nataraj Sharma’s Lot no. 95, ‘Sama Talav,’ a large-scale depiction of Lake Sama in Vadodara, is expected to be acquired for INR 30,00,000 to 35,00,000.

The auction also features works by other accomplished artists, including Lakshman Rao Kotturu, Shibu Natesan, Mousumi Biswas, Phaneendra Nath Chaturvedi, Vasundhara Tewari Broota, Milburn Cherian, Nikhil Chaganlal, Dhananjay Singh, Hema Upadhyay, Schandra Singh, Gigi Scaria, Anjum Singh, Gieve Patel, A. Balasubramanian, Raqib Shaw, and many more.
