Description

Decision Delayed on Presidential Copter The Honolulu Advertiser Despite pressure from the White House to move quickly, Navy officials are delaying a decision on who will build the next presidential helicopter, perhaps until the end of the year. The bid proposals for the new Marine One fleet went out in December, and a decision was originally planned for May. The two competing bids are: Connecticut-based Sikorsky Aircraft and Maryland-based Lockheed Martin. The Navy is considering two aircraft for the program, Sikorsky's VH-92 Super Hawk and Lockheed's US101.
